Corpus Christi, TX & Woodridge, IL | September 10, 2019 — The City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) has awarded GovQA customer, the City of Corpus Christi, a Silver Circle Award for their MyCity App (Digital Interactive Mobile App category) at the National Savvy Awards Competition on September 5, 2019.
Judges from the Savvy awards stated in their comments: “This is a great example of giving the public more options to complete common tasks with their government. Way to focus on making it easy!”
According to city officials, the My City mobile app, designed by GovQA, is “a free and fast way to connect with City services and information”. The app allows residents of Corpus Christi to submit and track requests for a number of city services including utilities issues (garbage/recycling, gas, water), animal-related complaints, building inspections and zoning questions, permits, sink holes, storm drain issues, flooding, gas leaks, spills, housing and community development concerns, motor vehicle violations, traffic construction, and employee complaints.
Users can also pay traffic tickets and utility bills via the app and view city events and job openings. The app provides convenient links to the city website, airport and Corpus Christi social media accounts.
The Savvy Awards recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations in communications and marketing.
